The imperative of establishing a society among the health economics community in India is a long felt desire and goal.  In order to achieve this goal, the Health Economics Association of India (HEAI) was established which aims to achieve multiple objectives of encouraging and strengthening theoretical and empirical economic reasoning into academics and policy-making.
